New Delhi. While renting a new flat or buying a house, we pay a lot of attention to the tiles, paint, balcony view and parking. But the biggest headache starts when after shifting home one has to talk on the phone while standing in the balcony or the Wi-Fi signal disappears during work from home. There is usually no talk about the condition of the mobile network at home. If you ask builders or brokers, they will tell you nothing. Now the solution to this problem has been found by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). TRAI has launched the Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR) platform and a special mobile app, which will reveal the real digital health of any property.
Will calls be dropped inside the house or will there be crystal clear sound? You will find out in just one click whether the downloading speed will be like rocket or whether you will have to face buffering. According to TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti, with this new system the common people will be able to know how the digital infrastructure has been prepared in that building even before finalizing the property.
Help in selecting houses
TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said that making ratings publicly available and facilitating verification of certificates will provide consumers with reliable and comparable information. With this, people will be able to select such houses and offices on the basis of more information, where better facilities of calling, downloading and online services are available.
what will be the benefit
He said that this system will also help consumers understand the importance of digital connectivity infrastructure developed in a property. It will also encourage property developers and management entities to include digital connectivity features from the initial stage of the project.
On the platform, consumers will be able to search for any rated property based on its name, certificate number (certificate ID) or location. They will also get to see the digitally signed rating certificate of the concerned property. Apart from this, the authenticity of the certificate can also be checked through the QR code available on it.
Connectivity will be easily known
The government says this will make digital connectivity a clear and verifiable feature of a property. As a result, the buyer or renter will be able to understand the actual condition of the network and internet facilities before making the final decision. According to the Ministry of Communications, this platform brings property managers, registered digital connectivity rating agencies and consumers on a common digital platform, which will make the rating process more transparent and streamlined.
