Cyclone Arnab has forced the abandonment of Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy match between Andhra and Chhattisgarh in Mulapadu, with heavy rain lashing Vijayawada since Tuesday night.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has classified the cyclone as a ‘very severe cyclonic storm’ (VSCS), warning of widespread rainfall and strong winds across parts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
Chhattisgarh was 216 for eight in its first innings when play was interrupted, after Andhra had been bowled out for 231. Amandeep Khare was unbeaten on 74 for the visitor, while Tripurana Vijay and Saurabh Kumar had claimed three and two wickets, respectively, for Andhra.
