BMW is going to hike prices for the fourth time this year.
BMW India is soon going to announce the increase in prices of its cars and Mini brand. This will be the decision to increase prices for the fourth time in 2026. According to the company, there is increasing pressure on margins due to rising prices of raw materials and falling rupee. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, gave this information during the launch of the new BMW 7 Series and i7. He told that so far this year the prices have been increased thrice, in which the total increase has been 4 to 5 percent.
Now the time has come for another increase. The forex rate has fallen by about 18 percent since January last year, which has put additional burden on the company. This increase will be applicable to both BMW and Mini brands. The company has not yet given the exact date, but it is likely to be around next month. This continuous growth in the luxury car segment can become a matter of concern for buyers.
Why is the price increasing?
The pressure of foreign exchange rates and commodity prices is clearly visible on BMW Group India. Hardeep Singh Brar said that the Forex situation is affecting the company a lot. He clarified that prices will continue to rise further because these pressures remain. After three increases, the fourth increase will further increase the overall prices.
Entry of new BMW 7 Series and BMW i7
The company has recently launched its flagship ICE and electric sedans – BMW 7 Series and BMW i7 in India. Both these models are coming through CKD route and will be assembled in India only. Booking has started and deliveries are scheduled to start from October 2026. This launch is important before the festive season.
Mini cars also affected
BMW’s subsidiary British luxury brand Mini will also be affected by this price hike. The prices of Mini Cooper and other models are also going to increase soon. Overall, the portfolio of both BMW and Mini will be affected.
impact on buyers
Due to frequent price increases in the luxury car market, potential buyers may have to face additional expenses. The company has said that these steps are necessary to save margins. In the three increases so far, prices have increased by a total of 5 percent. After the fourth increase, this figure may go up further.
This announcement from BMW Group India is coming soon. Due to weak rupee and global commodity prices, other luxury brands may also take similar steps.
