New Delhi. Amidst the rapid expansion of 5G network in India, the largest telecom company Reliance Jio has intensified preparations for 6G. Jio claims that when the world finalizes the 6G standard in 2030, India will be among the first countries to roll it out. The company has also prepared its pre-6G stack and Giga MIMO radio, which has been showcased at the ongoing India Mobile Congress 2026 in Delhi.

According to Jio, the capacity of 6G network can be up to 5 times more than the current 5G. The target is to reduce latency by about 10 times. In simple language, the network will be able to handle more data and users simultaneously, while the time taken to get a response to a command can be significantly reduced and yes, the data speed will definitely increase. Its benefits can be seen in real-time AI, holographic video, medical, education and other new digital services.

Made the country’s first Giga Memo
The Giga MIMO radio shown by Jio at IMC is an important part of this preparation. Jio has described it as India’s first Giga MIMO radio. Along with this, a common baseband unit has also been shown, which can work for both 5G and 6G. The race for 6G is not just about more capacity or less latency. Participation in preparing its global standards and technology will also be equally important. According to Jio, the company has filed more than 8,000 patents, of which hundreds of patents are related to 6G. Apart from this, the company has claimed more than 934 contributions to global standards.

Everyone benefits from farmer to scientist
According to Jio, the response of AI services will be faster in 6G. Its benefit can be found in such services where immediate information or answers are necessary. The company has shown providing AI based services to farmers, doctors and students as its possible use. Jio is also working towards making the future network AI native and quantum safe, so that along with fast network, security also remains strong.

Company growing through network
Jio’s efforts are not limited to just running 6G network. The company has started emphasizing on increasing its presence on all four fronts – hardware, software, patents and global standards. Jio is calling its vision as ‘India’s 6G in the making’ and ‘From India to the World’. Its purpose is to expand India’s technology to other countries of the world.
