Samsung has launched its A-Series new budget smartphone Galaxy A08 in India. The features of the phone include a large 6,000mAh battery, 50MP dual rear camera and a large display with 90Hz refresh rate. The company has also promised to provide software updates to the phone for a long time. Galaxy A08 comes with One UI 9 based on Android 16 and also has AI features like Circle to Search, Gemini and Perplexity.
Samsung Galaxy A08 has been launched in India only in variants with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Its price has been kept at ₹ 18,499. The phone is available in Dark Blue, Green and Silver colors.
It can be purchased from Samsung Exclusive Stores, partner retail stores, Samsung.com and other online platforms. The company is also offering Zero-Interest EMI facility of up to six months on eligible bank cards and EMI facility of up to nine months through NBFC partners.
Galaxy A08 has 6.7 inch screen
Samsung Galaxy A08 has a 6.7 inch HD+ PLS LCD display. The screen supports 90Hz refresh rate. The phone has a MediaTek Helio G99+ processor, which is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Storage can be expanded up to 2TB with the help of microSD card. For security, Samsung Knox has been provided in the phone, which helps in protecting sensitive information like password and biometrics.
AI features and long overdue updates
Galaxy A08 runs on One UI 9 based on Android 16. Samsung is promising to provide up to six generations of OS updates and six years of security updates for the phone.
Talking about AI features, the phone has support for Circle to Search 3.0, Gemini and Perplexity. Users can also access Gemini and Perplexity through voice commands or a long press of the power button. Apart from this, Galaxy Ecosystem features like Quick Share and Modes and Routines are also available.
50MP camera and 6,000mAh battery
Galaxy A08 has a dual rear camera setup for photography. It includes a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The phone has an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone has a 6,000mAh battery, which supports 25W fast charging. Its thickness is 8mm and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection is available on the front. The phone has also been given IP64 rating, due to which it remains protected to some extent from dust and water splashes.
