Without any big announcement, Meta has launched a new AI-powered fashion app called Style Sketch. This app will help users create new outfit combinations from the clothes already in their wardrobe. For this, the app prepares the user’s digital wardrobe with the help of AI and gives suggestions to wear clothes according to his personal style.
Not only this, users can also see their chosen outfit on a virtual model matching their body shape and skin tone.
Digital wardrobe will be ready from Instagram
Meta Style Sketch app can be downloaded from App Store and Google Play Store. Currently it is available in select markets like Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. The company has not yet given any information regarding its availability in other countries.
The specialty of this app is that it can create a digital wardrobe with the help of Instagram and the user’s photo album. If users want, they can also manually add pictures of their clothes, videos or photos from camera roll and add them to the app.
After this, AI suggests different outfit combinations after looking at the clothes present in the wardrobe. These suggestions are given keeping in mind the user’s preference, personal style and body shape.
You will be able to see your outfit on the virtual model
In Style Sketch, users also get the option to see the look of their chosen clothes on a virtual model. This model is designed to match the user’s body shape and skin tone. With this, one can guess how an outfit will look even before wearing it.
The app also pays special attention to those clothes which are less used in the wardrobe. For example, it can provide outfit ideas for using things like jackets or footwear in new ways.
Suggestions will also be available according to weather and travel
Style Sketch is not limited to just everyday clothes. Users can also get outfit suggestions based on their travel destination, duration of the trip and the weather there.
Apart from this, there is an option to see current fashion trends and new looks in the app. Users can look at a favorite style and learn how to create that look with the clothes in their wardrobe. They can also send the two outfit options directly to a friend and get his/her opinion.
AI fashion apps will get competition
Through Meta Style Sketch, AI wants to increase its presence in the fashion tools market. This app can compete with AI fashion tools like Alta. At the same time, Google Photos also provides features related to organizing photos of clothes as a digital wardrobe and exploring different outfit combinations.
