India’s semiconductor story is no longer limited to just government schemes. SEMICON India 2026 is witnessing technologies that can change the experience of cars, robots and AI in the future. From a single chip to run multiple screens in a car to smart robots that can interact with humans, the technologies shown here offer a glimpse of the future.
SEMICON India 2026: A chip will change the world of cars and robots!
The story of semiconductor in India is no longer limited to just speeches and schemes. A glimpse of this is clearly visible in SEMICON India 2026 going on at Yashobhoomi in Delhi. On one hand, there is talk of starting commercial production of chips in India, while on the other hand, such technologies are also emerging which can change the world of cars, robots, factories and AI in the future. During the inauguration of SEMICON India 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearly said that India has now moved beyond the phase of mere policy making in the field of semiconductors.
While the discussion on 2022 started with policy and plans, now chips made in India are in the phase of commercial production and reaching customers. PM Modi said that commercial production has started in two more plants in Mohali and Surat. The government has fixed the size of about $13.5 billion for the second phase of the Semiconductor Mission. But the real picture of SEMICON is not just of big plants and big investments. Here it can also be seen how much technological power a small chip holds within itself.
A chip and a car can become a mobile home theater
One of the technologies showcased at SEMICON is a chip design that can change the entire in-car entertainment experience. A single screen system is being developed in the digital cockpit, which can be used by both the driver and co-passenger. The special thing is that one chip can operate multiple screens simultaneously.
This means that in the coming time, the car will not be just a means of transportation. It can run multiple screens simultaneously and a home theater like experience can be created inside the car. This shows that semiconductor is not just a thing for mobiles or computers. Today, chips are becoming the backbone of everything from car technology to entertainment.
unique robot
Another interesting example of the power of semiconductors is visible in robotics. Such chips are being designed which can be integrated with different technologies and installed in robots. Their aim is to take the robot beyond a machine that just follows orders. That means you can talk to the robot, tell your problem and it can answer you.
In the future, such robots can play the role of conversation, assistance and companionship. The real power behind this is not just the structure of the robot. The chips, sensors, AI and computing systems inside it together make it smarter.
