Eternal CEO Deepinder Goyal has answered many important questions regarding his new wearable device Temple. While answering the questions of users on social media platform X, he gave information about its sensor, design, skin care and future features. He clarified that Temple does not directly read human thoughts, rather it has been provided with Photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor technology used in wearable devices like Apple Watch.
The most talked about thing about Temple is its possible thoughts-to-text feature. However, according to Goyal, it may take many years for this technology to arrive.
Can be used with glasses and even while sleeping
According to Deepinder Goyal, the temple has been made so thin that it can be worn even under glasses. This can provide relief to those people who have trouble using wearable devices and glasses together.
He also told that this device can remain in place even when you change sides while sleeping or keep your head on the pillow.
The design of the temple is like cashew nut. According to Goyal, this size makes the device appear smaller on the face, while maintaining its surface area. He also jokingly compared it to mitochondria found in cells. He described its black color variant as quite reflective, whose look and feel is like metal.
Take care of skin care while using temple
The company recommends that temple grips be applied to completely clean skin. After installing the device, users can use sunscreen, moisturizer and other skin care products over it.
According to Goyal, its grips are made of breathable and medical-grade material. He has advised to change them every two to three days, especially for those who are more exposed to dust and sweat.
Will Temple be able to read the thoughts of the mind?
Goyal clarified that currently PPG sensors are being used in the temple. This technology is not a system to read thoughts directly. He also did not recommend this device for people under 18 years of age unless they are trying to achieve specific goals for competitions like the Olympics.
He also said that there is nothing in the device that can harm the developing brain. However, any broad health-related conclusions related to its use will need to be weighed against the available scientific evidence.
When will pre-orders of Temple start?
According to Deepinder Goyal, pre-orders of Temple are going to start from November 1, 2026. It is expected to be offered in six color options.
Research is ongoing on the thoughts-to-text feature in the device, but it may take several years to arrive. Goyal indicated that this feature may come in the third or fourth generation. At present, the company has not officially disclosed its price, complete sales information and all the features.
