Meta launched its AI assistant Muse in September. Now the company is adding a new feature to it, with the help of which users will be able to interact with AI in real-time. This feature named Muse Voice will work with Meta’s Muse Realtime Avatar. In this, the AI assistant will also show facial expressions and hand gestures during the conversation.
According to Meta, Muse Voice is currently launching in America. It will soon be brought to other markets also. The Muse AI assistant was launched in the US in September and later became available in Canada. However, it is not currently possible to use it outside these countries due to regional app store restrictions.
This is how you will interact with Meta Muse Voice
Meta has reported that Muse Voice is being rolled out on mobile, web and Mac. Users who have received this update can start a conversation by tapping on the phone icon in the app.
Users can interact with Muse in three ways as per their choice. They can have one-on-one conversations like video calls, have an AI avatar next to the chat, or just talk through voice without any avatar.
Once the conversation starts, the user’s customized Muse avatar will appear on the screen. Meta claims that the avatar will show expressions and gestures according to the mood and tone of the conversation. Users can also express their views by interrupting the AI while it is answering. This experience supports real-time conversations like Google Gemini Live.
Users will be able to choose the voice and style of their choice
Meta is also giving users the option to customize the voice and style of Muse Voice. For this, you will get the option to choose your choice from hundreds of voices and styles.
The company has confirmed that Muse Voice will also be brought to Meta AI glasses and the upcoming Muse Charm devices in the future. However, no fixed deadline has been shared for this.
How different is Muse from meta AI chatbots?
According to Meta, Muse is different from the usual AI chatbots available on its platforms like WhatsApp. It has features like agentic AI capabilities, animated avatar and long-term memory.
While a typical Meta AI chatbot’s memory is based on sessions, Muse can remember conversational information over longer periods of time. With the help of its agentic features, apart from asking general questions, users can also get many types of work done.
