Maruti Suzuki has given great news to those who buy CNG cars. For the first time, the company has introduced the option of AMT gearbox in the factory-fitted CNG versions of Swift, Dzire and Baleno. Under its Auto Green Mission, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the option of Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) in the factory-fitted CNG versions of the country’s popular cars – Swift, Dzire and Baleno. This is the first such offering of the company, in which the facility of dual-pedal driving is available along with the economy of CNG. At the special prices of the festive season, the starting price of Swift CNG AMT has been kept at Rs 7.92 lakh, Baleno CNG AMT at Rs 8.32 lakh and Dezire CNG AMT at Rs 8.53 lakh (all ex-showroom).
All three models have a combination of 1.2 liter Z12E three-cylinder engine and 5-speed AMT gearbox. In CNG mode, this engine produces about 70 HP power and 102 Nm torque. Dezire gives the highest claimed mileage of 36.47 km/kg, Swift 35.34 km/kg and Baleno 34.47 km/kg. Earlier, CNG versions of these cars were available only with manual gearbox. Maruti Swift CNG AMT
Swift CNG AMT has been introduced in VXI, VXI (O) and ZXI variants. Its starting price is Rs 7.92 lakh, which is about Rs 35 thousand more than the manual CNG version. A 55 liter water-equivalent CNG tank is fitted in the boot and the spare wheel has also been retained. The company claims that the AMT version will give 2.49 km/kg better mileage than the manual. The combination of clutch-free driving in city traffic and CNG savings makes Swift attractive for young customers and small families.
Maruti Dzire CNG AMT
Dezire CNG AMT is available in VXI and ZXI trim. Its price starts from Rs 8.53 lakh. With a claimed efficiency of 36.47 km/kg, it has become the highest mileage sedan in India. The engine and transmission setup is the same as the other two cars. This version claims 2.74 km/kg more mileage compared to manual CNG. This new option of Dezire can prove to be a strong contender for customers who want both economy and convenience in the family car segment.
Maruti Baleno CNG AMT
Baleno CNG AMT comes in Delta and Zeta variants. Its starting price is Rs 8.32 lakh and it will be sold through Nexa network. With a mileage of 34.47 km/kg, it offers the option of CNG-AMT in the premium hatchback segment. Apart from the already available petrol manual, petrol AMT and CNG manual, now a fourth powertrain option has been added. Space, features and now the convenience of automatic CNG has made Baleno even more attractive for daily use in the city.
