Renualt has solved a major problem of its most popular MPV. Customers who bought Triber always complained that it is a 7-seater car, so it is quite good, but when the entire passengers are seated, its engine seems weak. To overcome this problem, the new Renault Triber has been introduced with a turbo engine, which produces 100 PS power. Its price starts from Rs 7.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with the naturally aspirated engine models already available, this powerful turbo option is also available.

Triber is the most affordable 7-seater MPV in the segment, which offers flexible seating and good space in sub-4 meter size. With the new turbo engine, it will now give better performance even on the highway and at full load. Renault has built it on the new RGEP platform, due to which the structure has been strengthened and the weight has increased by about 80 kg. The company claims that this is India’s most fuel-efficient petrol 7-seater. Bookings have started and deliveries will start soon.

Price and variants

Among the turbo engine variants, Evolution Turbo MT is available at Rs 7.84 lakh, Techno Turbo MT at Rs 8.53 lakh and Emotion Turbo MT at Rs 8.99 lakh. There is no turbo option in the base Authentic variant. The Turbo comes only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The AMT option is currently available only in the naturally aspirated Emotion variant.

Design and interior

The facelift look of Triber remains intact and there is no change in it. The front has sharp headlights, silver skid plates and SUV style bumpers. Roof rails are available on the sides and LED tail lamps are available at the rear. Inside there is a 7-seater modular cabin, in which the second and third row seats can be easily folded, slid and removed. Boot space increases from 84 liters to 625 litres.

Features and safety

Features include an 8-inch touchscreen, wired/wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, driver seat height adjustment and automatic climate control (top variant). Safety features include 6 airbags, ESP, TPMS, hill-hold assist, ABS and parking sensors as standard.

Engine and Performance

The engine is 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol, which produces 100 PS power and 180 Nm torque. The company claims that its mileage is 21 km per liter. Driving dynamics have been significantly improved with new suspension, anti-roll bars and better brakes. These changes make Triber more attractive for families.
