Toyota Glanza Facelift Vs Tata Altroz: Glanza and Altroz are two strong contenders in the premium hatchback segment. Ex-showroom prices of the recently launched Glanza Facelift start from ₹ 6.99 lakh and go up to ₹ 10.98 lakh, while the Altroz can be bought between ₹ 6 lakh to ₹ 10.90 lakh.
Both the cars are 5-seater and are almost similar in dimensions (length 3990 mm). While Glanza puts the company’s emphasis on reliability and good mileage, Altroz makes a stronger choice with safety, boot space and diesel/CNG options. In terms of price, Altroz starts a little cheaper, but both are almost equal in the top variant. Now let us see the comparison of design, interior, features, safety, engine and mileage.
design details
The length of both the cars is same. The Glanza facelift has a new bigger grille, LED headlights and smart looks. The design of Altroz is more bold and muscular, in which connected taillights and 16 inch alloy wheels are available. The Glanza has a slightly longer wheelbase (2520 mm vs 2501 mm), while the Altroz has better boot space (345 litres).
Interior, Features and Safety
The 10.25-inch digital cluster and touchscreen, air purifier and sunroof options feel more premium in the Altroz. The Glanza is available with a 9-inch touchscreen, head-up display and ventilated front seats (top variant). Both have rear AC vents and good space. The top variant of Glanza gets 360 degree camera, wired charger, Level-2 ADAS (in V(O)) and Clarion sound system.
The Altroz also comes with 360 camera, wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, cruise control, sunroof and iRA connected features. Altroz looks a little ahead in the feature list. Both have 6 airbags, ESP, ABS as standard. Altroz has received a 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP, which is its big plus point. The Glanza also has good safety kit and the top model is equipped with ADAS.
Engine and Mileage
Glanza gets a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine (83 hp, 112 Nm), which is available with 5-speed MT/AMT. You can also buy it in CNG option (70 hp). Claimed mileage is 23.8-24.77 kmpl in petrol and 33.61-34.47 km/kg in CNG.
Altroz is available in 1.2-litre petrol (88 hp, 115 Nm), 1.5-litre diesel (90 hp, 200 Nm) and iCNG. MT, AMT and DCT are available in transmission options. Petrol mileage is around 19-20 kmpl, diesel 23+ kmpl and CNG 26+ km/kg. Glanza is better in mileage, Altroz proves to be stronger in power options.
