Hyundai Bayon's design details revealed; see new picturesZoom

Hyundai Bayon is set to be launched soon.

Hyundai has released new teaser images and videos of the exterior design of its upcoming midsize SUV Bayon. This teaser comes after the design sketch released just a few days ago. The Bayon is expected to slot in between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s India lineup. The company has indicated to launch it in the festive season. The SUV’s sharp LED DRLs, LED taillights and alloy wheels are clearly visible in the teaser. The Bayon will come in a crossover-like style, which will be different from a boxy SUV.

Its length is expected to be more than 4 meters. As an engine, Creta’s 1.5-litre petrol unit can be available, which will have both manual and CVT options. Also, a factory-fitted CNG kit may also be available, which will be for the first time in Hyundai cars larger than 4 meters. The price is expected to be between Rs 9 to 14 lakh (ex-showroom). Let’s take a look at the details revealed so far from the teaser image.

Front profile of Hyundai Bayon.

front lighting design

The teaser shows a split-type headlight setup at the front. At the top, there are sleek, inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, which are housed in a black housing. The main headlights are mounted low on the bumper. This design is similar to the headlights of Verna. Front parking sensors are also clearly visible.

Side profile of Hyundai Bayon.

Side Profile and Wheels

17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are teased from the side. Their design is geometric, with silver and black finish. Thick black cladding is installed all around the wheel arches. Sharp lines are also visible on the doors. Parking sensors are visible near the front wheel arches.

Rear design of Hyundai Bayon.

Rear lighting and other details

At the rear, there are slim, wraparound inverted L-shaped LED taillights. These are mounted on a thick black strip, which appears to connect the two units. The rear wiper and partially blacked out C-pillar are also visible.

What was shown in the spy shots

The crossover-like design of the Bayon is clearly visible in the camouflaged spy shots. It has regular pull-type door handles, functional roof rails and prominently flared wheel arches.

interior design

According to the previously released sketch, the interior will be similar to the Brazil-spec fourth gen i20. Layered dashboard, dual digital screen, three-spoke steering wheel and vertical AC control panel in the center console are expected. The Bayon is scheduled to be launched during the festive season and is designed keeping the urban buyers in mind.
