The Uruguayan players pass the ball around the back to see out the half, and the referee decides to blow his whistle.
A solid performance from India, which will believe that it can still get something out of this game. A couple of errors at the back handed Uruguay two goals, but Khalid Jamil’s men have responded brilliantly, especially while going forward.
As we have seen throughout this window, Ryan Williams has been India’s main man in attack, and it was his surge that eventually led to India’s goal. His strike from outside the box was not gathered by Uruguayan keeper Cardozo, who was punished by the Anirudh Thapa from close range.
Uruguay, meanwhile, has had the chance to score more, but a point-blank save from Gurpreet and some good decision-making from the Indian backline have kept the deficit at one.
