India has announced its squad for its two-match Test series against New Zealand beginning on November 19.
The squad is largely similar to the one that faced Sri Lanka in its last assignment, while Jasprit Bumrah returns to the side after missing the series. The team management has opted to bring in extra seamers in the form of Anshul Kamboj and Akash Deep, both of whom will feature for the first time since the England series if they play.
Meanwhile, vice-captain Rishabh Pant’s inclusion is subject to fitness clearance. Pant sustained an injury while captaining Rest of India in the Irani Cup, and did not feature in Delhi’s Ranji Trophy opener.
B. Sai Sudharsan returns to the squad in place of Sarfaraz Khan, having missed the Sri Lanka series through injury.
