Mahindra is going to open the bookings of its CNG sub-compact SUV XUV 3XO ZNG from 11 am tomorrow. This is the company’s first big step in the mainstream CNG SUV segment. This model will compete directly with Tata Nexon iCNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG. In this version with 1.2 liter turbo-petrol engine, the power and torque have been kept the same as the petrol model.
Mahindra claims that the 111 PS power and 200 Nm torque remains intact due to the updated turbocharger calibration and ECU mapping. The mileage figure is stated to be 24.70 km/kg, while the speed of 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 11.8 seconds. The exterior is similar to the petrol version, except for the ZNG badge on the tailgate that differentiates it. The features and safety list is also quite strong.
Booking details and price
Booking will start tomorrow morning at exactly 11 am. XUV 3XO ZNG is available in four variants. The base MX Edge is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). RevX Edge (O) will be available for Rs 10.79 lakh. The AX5 variant has been priced at Rs 11.19 lakh, while the top-end RevX A is available at Rs 12.27 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design and interior
The XUV 3XO ZNG keeps the same look as the petrol model. The front grille, LED headlamps and connected tail-lamps remain the same. The ZNG badge itself marks it as a CNG version. The interior has leatherette upholstery, front and rear armrest along with height-adjustable front seat belts.
The features list includes push-button start-stop system, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, tire pressure monitoring system, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof and Dolby Atmos audio system. Rear wiper is also available. Drivers can choose from three steering modes – Normal, Comfort and Sport.
Safety, Engine and Mileage
On the safety front, six airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, three-point seat belts, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, seat-belt reminder and speed alert system are provided. The engine is 1.2 liter MPFI turbo-petrol, which produces 111 PS power and 200 Nm torque. The gearbox is six-speed manual. Its company claimed mileage is 24.70 km/kg.
