Sharing Instagram Reels can be quick and easy for WhatsApp users. The company is testing a new shortcut in the Android app, with the help of which users will be able to share Instagram Reels by directly selecting it from the attachment menu of the chat. For this, they will not need to open the media picker again and again and search for videos. Currently this feature is being rolled out for some Android beta users.
According to the report of WABetaInfo, this shortcut has been seen in Android beta version 2.26.42.9 of WhatsApp. This update is available through Google Play Store. However, not all beta users have got this feature yet and the company has not even told the date of its availability for all users.

Users will be able to select any reel from these three sections and share it directly in WhatsApp chat. This will reduce the need to go to Instagram and search for a favorite video again to share it with friends or family.
It is necessary to link WhatsApp and Instagram accounts – To use this feature, users will have to link their WhatsApp account to Meta’s Accounts Centre. Only after this a new shortcut of Reels will appear in the attachment menu of the chat.
If a user wants to keep his WhatsApp account separate from Instagram and Facebook, he can continue using these apps even without linking the account. However, in such a situation, he will not get this new Reels button in WhatsApp chat.
Option to share reels is already available – There is still a facility to share stories, posts and reels of Instagram and Facebook on WhatsApp. For this, users can search related content by opening the media picker. The new feature is being introduced to make this process easier. With a separate shortcut for Reels, users will be able to directly browse their Instagram activity and send favorite videos to chat.
When will all users get the feature? WhatsApp is currently testing this feature with some users using Android beta version 2.26.42.9. But even after installing the update, it is not necessary that everyone starts seeing the Reels button, because the company is rolling it out gradually.
WhatsApp has not yet announced the date of releasing this feature for all Android users. At present, no information has been revealed regarding its availability for iPhone users.
