The 92nd edition of the Ranji Trophy is set to begin on Sunday, October 11, with the top domestic teams vying for India’s premier domestic red-ball title.
Defending champion Jammu and Kashmir, which won its maiden Ranji title last season, is in Group A, and kicks off its title defence by hosting Madhya Pradesh in Srinagar. It is also joined by the likes of Vidarbha, Uttar Pradesh, and Baroda.
Meanwhile, runner-up Karnataka will begin against Andhra in Group B, which also has the likes of Punjab, Saurashtra, and Hyderabad.
Group C sees Jharkhand, which contributed five players to East Zone’s Duleep Trophy-winning side, beginning against Kerala, while Bengal will face Delhi in its first match.
In Group D, domestic heavyweights Mumbai and Tamil Nadu start their campaigns against Chandigarh and Rajasthan respectively.
