Apple has launched its first foldable phone iPhone Duo. Looking at the price, design and features, the question that comes to everyone’s mind is how different this new iPhone is from Samsung’s existing foldable phones. Look and Design: iPhone Duo looks like a normal phone when closed. When opened, a large 7.6 inch screen is available. It is available in two colors: Star White and Night Sky. Weight is around 254 grams. The Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra is a little lighter – just 215 grams. When opened it becomes just 4.1 mm thin. Its colors are many – graphite, cream, violet shadow and green shadow. Samsung’s design looks more slim and light, whereas Apple’s design is clean and has a premium finish.

The external screen of iPhone Duo is 5.4 inches and the internal is 7.6 inches Super Retina XDR display. Brightness and promotion support is available up to 3000 nits on both sides. Samsung’s external screen is larger – 6.5 inches. Inside is an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen. Both have 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung’s screen is slightly larger in size, but Apple’s screen is considered better in quality and color science.

iPhone Duo has A20 Pro chip which is built on 2 nanometer process. It is very powerful and gives good performance for a long time. Samsung has Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Both the phones are fast in gaming, multitasking and AI tasks. Apple’s software optimization is stronger, whereas Samsung’s Android offers more freedom and customization.
camera
Samsung is ahead here. It has a 200 megapixel main camera, 50 megapixel ultra wide and 10 megapixel telephoto camera. Gives good results in low light and zoom. iPhone Duo has two 48 megapixel rear cameras. Apple’s photo processing is very natural. Both have good options for selfie. Both are strong in video recording.
Battery and Charging
Samsung has a 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging is available. According to the company, the battery life of iPhone Duo is said to be 31 hours (inside) and 44 hours (outside) in video playback. Wireless charging is available in both, but Apple’s MagSafe support is more convenient.
Other features
The iPhone Duo has IP68 water and dust resistance, which is better than Samsung’s IP48. Apple Pencil support will also be available later. Samsung has S Pen support, more multitasking Windows and Galaxy AI features. Apple provides long term support in software updates.

The starting price of iPhone Duo in India is Rs 2,99,900. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at Rs 1,99,999. Samsung is quite cheap.

Who is better?
If you are in the Apple ecosystem, want better build quality and longer software support then the iPhone Duo is perfect. If you want to keep the budget a little lower, want a bigger screen, better camera and freedom from Android, then Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra is a better option.
