Remember Orkut? Your old social media platform can be started again, what special will the users get, know the founder’s plan

Social media platform Orkut may make a comeback once again. The company’s founder Orkut Buyukkokten has informed the internet users about restarting it on October 9. This time his aim is to create a platform where people can make true friendship, create their own community and connect with each other. Orkut Buyukkoten has also posted a letter on the company’s website.

In this letter he explained why he wanted to restart this social media platform. He says that in the last 20 years, instead of connecting people together, emphasis has been laid on social media to attract their maximum attention. However, they have not yet given any launch date for the return of Orkut.

Letter shared on Orkut website

Orkut’s founder Orkut Buyukkokten says that he wants to restart the social media platform so that true friendship and good relationships can be formed between people on the internet. He believes that earlier it was very special to connect with strangers on the internet, make new friendships and interact with people who have similar interests. But the style of social media has changed in the last 20 years. Now instead of connecting people, platforms pay more attention to how long people use their mobile, how many posts they view and how many likes or comments they make. Due to this the distance between people has increased and loneliness has also become a big problem.

Orkut Buyukkokten says that now due to Artificial Intelligence (AI), fake accounts, fake videos and machine generated content are increasing on social media. This can make it difficult to identify whether there is a real person on the other side or not. He believes that no matter how much technology advances, it cannot replace human happiness, love, hope and friendship. He wants to create a social media where people can create communities as per their choice, help each other and connect with trust. For them, the real purpose of social media should be to connect people, not to take up more and more of their time.

For this reason, he has appealed to the people to join the campaign for the return of Orkut. He has asked people to go to orkut.com and register their names and also add any of their friends to this initiative. He wants people to tell their friends why he is special to them. His message is clear that the Internet should be rebuilt in a way where humans and their relationships get the most importance. However, he has not yet told when Orkut will start again.

What benefits can users get from the return of Orkut?

If Orkut relaunches, users may get a chance to connect with old friends and create new communities with people of their choice. Users will be able to connect with people according to their interests and share ideas with those who have similar interests. However, these are potential benefits. The new features and facilities of the platform have not been officially announced yet. It is not yet clear what Orkut plans to do to deal with data privacy, security and fake content.
