Google has introduced three new features in Chrome browser for students. Their purpose is to manage study related work, prepare for tests and continue work easily on different devices. In the new update, Gemini in Chrome has got the ability to understand more types of audio and video.
Apart from this, Chrome can now also create interactive quizzes from the content of open tabs. At the same time, the feature of sending tabs from one device to another has also become better than before.
Now apart from YouTube, Gemini will also understand video and audio
According to Google, Gemini in Chrome on desktop can now analyze audio and video available on websites other than YouTube. Students can use it with podcasts, online lectures, videos and recordings from other platforms.
After playing content, Gemini can search for specific information, highlight important points, and help explain difficult parts. This can save time in understanding long lectures or study material again.
Will make interactive quiz himself from study material
Another new feature in Chrome creates interactive quizzes from the content of open tabs. It can work with content like notes, research papers and lecture videos present in Google Docs.
Chrome identifies essential concepts from the study material and prepares questions related to them. With this, students can test the studied topics themselves. This feature is currently being rolled out in English language on desktop in the US and India. In the coming months, it will also be extended to other regions and mobile devices.
Work will start from there after changing the device
Google has also updated the tab sharing feature of Chrome. Now when sending a tab from laptop to phone or from phone to laptop, Chrome can preserve the current state of that tab.
This also includes the scroll position of the page and information filled in incomplete forms. This means that after opening the tab on another device, the user will not need to search the same place again or fill the form again.
Apart from this, tabs of different courses or projects can be organized through Tab Groups. In Split View, two pages can be opened simultaneously, while with Paired Tabs this workspace can be easily opened again.
Chrome also has features like Immersive Reading, which make reading easier by removing unnecessary visuals from a webpage. Users can also change the font, letter spacing and contrast. Chrome can read web pages out to you, while Android’s AI Playback feature can turn online articles into podcast-like conversations.
