Mercedes-Benz has launched the locally assembled electric GLC in India. This luxury electric SUV is available in GLC 400 4Matic variant and its starting price has been kept at Rs 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This model, being manufactured at the Chakan plant in Pune, is the company’s smallest electric SUV in India. The company claims that in just six months of the global launch, it has been introduced with local assembly in India, which is the fastest record till date.

In terms of design, the electric GLC includes illuminated front grille, digital light headlamps and star-shaped LED daytime running lights. This model is 4,845 mm long and has a longer wheelbase than the ICE GLC, which has increased rear space.

The biggest highlight of the interior is the 39.1-inch MBUX hyperscreen, which stretches across the dashboard. It has features like panoramic glass roof (with illuminated stars), Burmester sound system (with Dolby Atmos), multi-color ambient lighting, massage function in the front seats, wireless charging and power-folding rear seats. Boot space is 570 liters and trunk space is 128 liters.

This electric GLC has a 94 kilowatt-hour battery pack, which is connected with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. This system produces about 489-490 bhp power and 800 Newton-meter torque. According to the company, this SUV achieves the speed of 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, while the top speed is 210 km/h.

Its claimed range on WLTP cycle is said to be 711 to 715 kilometers. Based on 800-volt architecture, this model supports DC fast charging up to 330 kW. 10 minutes of charging can add a range of about 300 kilometers and 10 to 80 percent charge is done in about 22 minutes.
