The India vs Pakistan match in the Men’s ODI World Cup 2027 has attracted nearly 84 lakh ticket applications, the organisers said on Monday.
The ODI World Cup returns to Africa after 23 years and will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
India and Pakistan will face off on October 10 at Johannesburg’s Wanderers stadium, which has a capacity of just 34,000 spectators. The same venue will host the final on November 21 – a match that trails close behind with almost eight million ticket requests.
The fixture between India and Pakistan has been one of the most highly anticipated matches in the cricket calendar and the most lucrative financially. However, India has dominated the fixture, winning in their last nine meetings.
Nearly three million fans from 193 countries have applied for tickets in the ballot window, which remains open until November 21. More than 120 million total ticket requests have been received for the 14-team showcase that runs October 2 to November 21.
