Top 10 Car Brands Oct 2026: Amidst the excitement of the festive season and strong demand, the Indian passenger vehicle market performed brilliantly in October 2026. Many companies created monthly records due to increased purchases during Navratri and Dussehra. At the industry level, wholesale sales were around 5.25-5.30 lakh units, which is 13-15 percent more than last year.
According to retail registration data, total sales were around 4.98 lakh units. Maruti Suzuki retained the top position, while Tata Motors overtook Mahindra to take the second position. Maruti Suzuki achieved the first rank by selling 2,11,444 units. There was good demand in both small car and utility vehicle segments. The company recorded strong growth in the domestic market and performed well despite low network stocks.
Tata Motors
Tata Motors occupied the second position with sales of 73,002 units. There was a good increase in the company’s EV sales. Mahindra was successful in leaving behind due to strong demand in the passenger vehicle segment.
Mahindra
Mahindra stood third by selling 64,248 units. The company’s hold in the SUV segment remained strong. The company recorded good figures in wholesale sales, although there was a slight difference in retail figures.
Hyundai
Hyundai took the fourth position with sales of 57,883 units. The company achieved good growth in the domestic market. Demand for Venue and other models supported the performance.
Kia
Kia stood at fifth position by selling 30,657 units. The company recorded sales approaching a monthly record. Good demand for SUV models helped in growth.
Apart from the top-5 car companies of last month mentioned above, in October 2026, Toyota sold 28,323 units, Skoda and Volkswagen Group sold 9,083 units, MG Motor sold 7,014 units, Honda sold 5,429 units, Renault sold 3,491 units, Nissan sold 3,257 units, Vinfast sold 2,565 units, Stellantis sold 2,565 units, 1,077 units and BYD has sold only 735 units.
