Maruti Suzuki has recently started testing the Fronx Facelift, just a few months after launching the Baleno Facelift. The spy shots show a highly camouflaged prototype, hinting at the introduction of a new engine with minor styling changes, better safety and features. Franks is performing well both in India with strong sales and exports. It was the sixth best selling car in the country in April-September 2026 and topped in exports.

Now the company is preparing to make it even better. The new model is due to arrive in 2027, and will probably be unveiled at the Bharat Auto Expo in February. Later Toyota will also launch its Urban Cruiser Taisor on the same platform and all the changes will also be like the 2027 Maruti Frontx Facelift. The current Front is priced around Rs 6.90 lakh to Rs 12 lakh and the facelift is also expected to be in the same range.

design details

The familiar silhouette of the front and split lighting arrangement will remain intact in the design. There will be a sleek lighting unit at the upper and separate headlamps at the bottom. The new grill pattern is visible from the open parts in the camouflage. Minor changes are possible in the front and rear bumpers. The tail lamps are partially covered, so their new design is not obvious. The sloping roofline, rear spoiler and body proportions will remain almost the same.

Cabin and Comfort

There is no clear picture about the interior, but it can be guessed from the Baleno facelift. There is a possibility of getting ventilated front seats, wireless charger with cooling, updated upholstery and upgraded audio system. These changes can make the cabin more premium and comfortable.

Features and safety

The biggest upgrade in features and safety could be the Level 2 ADAS system. The ADS radar module can find place in the center of the grille. With this, features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and high-beam assist can be available. Another important change is the appearance of a rear disc brake. Currently, the front brakes come with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. Braking performance will be better with the introduction of rear disc brake.

Engine and Performance

There is going to be a big change in the engine. The existing 1.2 liter four cylinder K-series petrol engine will be replaced by a new 1.2 liter three cylinder Z-series engine. This engine is already used in Swift, Dezire and Baleno facelift. In the updated Glanza, it gives about 83 PS power and 112.4 Nm torque.

Similar output is expected in Franks also. The 1.0 liter turbo petrol option may also continue. Official figures regarding mileage are not yet available, but the new three-cylinder engine being more efficient can give better fuel economy. Overall, the 2027 Front Facelift will bring mild changes in the design, better safety, modern features and a new engine.
