The first glimpse of Hyundai Bayon has been revealed.
Hyundai Motor India has released the first official design sketch of its upcoming SUV Bayon. Just a few days after confirming the name, the company has shared sketches of both the exterior and interior. This model has been developed as a global product and is based on Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy. This version for India will come with a more upright and muscular look, which has been designed keeping the urban buyers in mind.
The Hyundai Bayon will position itself between the Venue and Creta in the company’s portfolio and will be over four meters long. The bold and modern character of the SUV is clearly visible from the sketch. The company has introduced it as an intelligent utility vehicle, which will have a combination of high-tech interior with tough exterior. The launch is expected around the festive season. Let’s take a look at its possible design and other details revealed from the sketch.
Exterior Sketch and Design Details
In the sketch, the front fascia of the Bion looks wide and upright. Hyundai calls it ‘H-Edge’ lighting signature. It has horizontal light elements spanning the entire front and vertical elements at both ends. The sculpted bonnet has pronounced creases that add muscle. The front fenders are quite flared. The SUV character has been enhanced by strengthening the lower body elements. These details match the upright profile, straight roofline, prominent wheel arches and roof rails previously seen on test mules.
Interior sketch and cabin features
The interior sketch has a futuristic look. There is a large display area on the dashboard. The infotainment screen is prominently placed in the centre. The dashboard has a layered and horizontal layout, while the center console seems to rise upwards. Hyundai’s focus will be on technology, connectivity and intuitive controls. Dual integrated screens, new steering wheel, 360 degree camera and sunroof have also been spotted in earlier test mules.
Engine and powertrain
Hyundai has not yet revealed official powertrain details. It is expected that petrol engines will remain the main option with Creta like 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine (about 115 hp), manual and CVT options are possible. There may also be 1.0 or 1.2 liter turbo petrol options. A CNG version is also a possibility as the company is expanding its factory-fitted CNG portfolio.
Bayon is an intelligent SUV designed for urban buyers. Its bold presence and technology focus are clearly visible from the sketch. Complete details and launch date are expected soon.
