BMW F450 RR has been unveiled.
BMW Motorrad is currently working rapidly on its new 450 cc platform. After the unveiling of the F450 GS last November and its India launch in April, the company has introduced the sport-naked F 450 R on October 1. Now in just two weeks, it has released the teaser of a new sportbike, the name of which is almost certainly believed to be F 450 RR. This bike will be based on the same 420 cc twin-cylinder engine platform on which the GS and R models are built.
The company has clearly indicated that it will be officially unveiled on October 15 at 8:30 pm (Indian time). Some glimpses of the flagship S1000 RR are visible in the design, along with the winglets and side-positioned DRL. This step shows that BMW wants to strengthen its presence in the 450 segment.
Unveil date and teaser
BMW released a teaser yesterday, in which the silhouette of a sportbike is clearly visible. The company revealed that the full model will be unveiled on October 15 at 8:30 PM IST. This will be the third model of the same platform.
Platform and Engine
The F 450 RR will be built on the same 420 cc twin-cylinder engine platform that has been used in the F 450 GS and F 450 R. No changes were made to the engine in the F 450 R. There may be some tune-up in power and torque delivery to suit the sportier nature of the RR model, but this will be confirmed only after unveiling.
design glimpse
The silhouette of the bike in the teaser seems to be inspired by the next generation S 1000 RR. The winglets and side DRLs are clearly visible. The overall look is expected to be sport-oriented and aggressive.
prospects in india
The F 450 GS was launched in India in April, while the prices and launch timeline of the F 450 R are not clear yet. There is no official information yet on the possibility of RR model coming to India, but considering the activeness of the company, there is hope of more options coming in this segment.
