New Delhi. Apple has launched a foldable iPhone for the first time. It has been named iPhone Duo. This phone, presented at Apple’s Surprise and Shine launch event, looks like a big wallet. You can also open it with your Apple Watch. It will come in 2 colors, star white and night sky. It has A20 Pro processor.
The price of 265 GB Apple Duo has been kept at $1999. Its pre-order will start from October 16. The phone will start being available from October 23.
iPhone Duo will have a 7.6 inch Super Retina XDR display. According to Apple, this screen will be 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max and 80% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro. Apart from this, a 5.4 inch display is provided outside the phone. Apple says that this screen provides about 90% of the total screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro. The special thing is that Apple Pencil support will also be available on both the displays. This facility will be available later this year.
Regarding the display of Apple’s first foldable phone iPhone Duo, John Ternus said that it will be completely different from any iPhone used till now. He said, iPhone Duo is an iPhone like you have never experienced before. It is completely new, but yet it will seem very familiar to you. Its size is the same as your passport. Both parts of the phone join together to form a continuous movable frame. The aspect ratio of both the displays has also been kept the same.
Along with Duo, the company has also launched iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The company has not made any significant changes in the design of iPhone 18 Pro. This is the first event of the company’s new CEO John Ternes. Let us tell you that this time the base model of iPhone will not be launched. This year the base version of iPhone 18 will not be launched on 9th September i.e. today. Today only three premium devices iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and possibly iPhone Fold will be launched. The price of 256 GB iPhone 18 Pro has been kept at $1199. The price of 256 GB iPhone 18 Pro Max has been kept at $1299. You can book it from 18th September.
The company has upgraded the chip of the phone from A19 Pro to A20 Pro. Apple has introduced its new A20 Pro chip. According to Ternus, the A20 Pro is an amazing chip that sets a new standard for mobile computing. It has been designed with a completely new architecture based on 2nm technology.
iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro will come in four color options. Deep Black, Silver, Glacier Blue and Burgundy. Apple is calling the burgundy color a sophisticated and unique new color.
iPhone 18 Pro has a 48-megapixel rear camera with variable aperture. The company is claiming to make night mode capture faster than before. Now after capturing the video, you can convert it into cinematic effect.
Many new features related to camera will be available in iPhone 18 Pro series. Now time-lapse video can be recorded in 4K resolution and Dolby Vision HDR. According to Apple, even after recording a video, effects like cinematic mode can be applied to it. This feature will now also support 60 frames per second, due to which the effect of playing the video at half speed will be even better. Apart from this, Apple has given a new feature called Pro Controls. With its help, users will be able to change White Balance, view Histogram, manually adjust Aperture and also change Shutter Speed. This will make it possible to shoot photos and videos that previously could not be done on the iPhone.
The dynamic island in iPhone 18 Pro has been made multitasking. It can now tell you about 3 activities simultaneously.
Perhaps for the first time it is being seen that Apple is directly using the term AI instead of the term Apple Intelligence. Earlier CEO Tim Cook repeatedly used the term Apple Intelligence. Is this a sign that John Ternes is already beginning to make an impact?
Apple is bringing AI version of Siri with the new iPhone 18 Pro series. For this, a new Siri app will also be introduced, which will sync your conversations through iCloud. Siri will also work inside the Camera app, while third-party support will be provided to developers so that Siri can work with other apps as well. Siri can also be used in Safari and users will be able to interact with it through both text and voice. That means Apple is now preparing to give direct competition to ChatGPT and Gemini in the matter of AI assistant.
Ternus said on the new Siri, it is very fast moving. Siri can understand your personal information in different apps, like Mail and Messages. The AI version of Siri looks amazing. This is because the iPhone 18 Pro has our most advanced on-device AI model to date. This model makes Siri’s voice more natural. You can choose the voice of your choice from many voices and can also change its speaking speed and style as per your choice.
7-core GPU in iPhone 18 Pro
According to Apple, the new GPU has been designed with a 7-core design. This can speed up graphics performance by up to 40%. It has been provided with new natural accelerators with more bandwidth, which are 2 times faster than before in 8FP math. Apple’s natural engine is also getting better every year.
