Vivo has finally confirmed the India launch date of its much-awaited smartphone Vivo V80 5G. The company will launch this phone on October 6, 2026 at 12 noon. This year Vivo is bringing a big upgrade in its popular V-series. The company has added a lot of new things on all three fronts: camera, battery and software. Especially in the camera segment, Vivo has tried to attract the attention of the users by adding cinematic mode like iPhone.

The phone will be available for sale during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale. If you are planning to buy a new smartphone then Vivo V80 5G can become an interesting option for you. Let us know in detail which are the three major upgrades in this phone that make it different from other phones.

4K cinematic mode and the magic of ZEISS in the camera

The biggest attraction of Vivo V80 5G is its camera setup. The phone has a triple camera system on the rear. The main camera is a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 700V sensor, which has OIS support. Apart from this, there is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor with ZEISS Night Telephoto, which supports 3X optical zoom and up to 100X zoom. The ultra-wide sensor is also ZEISS powered. For selfie, a 50-megapixel ZEISS camera is available with autofocus.

Vivo has greatly strengthened the camera processing through its partnership with ZEISS. Many AI features have been added to the hardware as well as the software. More than 30 effects will be available in AI Creative Camera, which includes features like Live Sticker College, Diwali Portrait 2.0.

The most important thing is that 4K cinematic mode is supported in Vivo V80 5G. This feature is inspired by the cinematic mode of Apple iPhone. With this, users will be able to create stunning cinematic videos without much editing and camera gear. Good performance is expected even in low light because the combination of ZEISS and Sony sensors is quite powerful.

Big battery and new design

Along with the camera, the battery has also been upgraded significantly. Vivo V80 5G has a large battery of 7200mAh. According to the leak, the phone will support 90W fast wired charging. The company claims that 0 to 50 percent charge will be done in just 30 minutes. The battery is expected to last smoothly even after heavy use throughout the day.

The phone will look different in terms of design also. The rectangular camera module on the rear has a triple camera setup, along with flash and circular LED light. ZEISS branding will be clearly visible in the corner. Metallic frame and glass on the front and back have been used in the phone, which gives a premium look.

In terms of display also, the phone is coming with a very good package. A 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display will be available, which will support 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 5000 nits. The screen is expected to be clearly visible even in sunlight.

OriginOS 7 and Android 17 software

Vivo V80 5G will come with OriginOS 7 out of the box, which is said to be based on Android 17. This will make it one of the first phones to come with Android 17 pre-installed. Many AI features have been added to the new software. Apart from AI creative camera, features like Pet Pals, Snap Note and Security Shield will be available.

For performance, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset has been used in the phone. This is a chip made on 4nm process. Its score in AnTuTu 11 benchmark is said to be 13,29,936. Single-core 1270 and multi-core 4106 points have been found in Geekbench 6. This chipset is considered powerful enough for everyday work, gaming and multitasking.

When will it be launched and where will it be available?

Vivo V80 5G will be launched on 6 October 2026 at 12 noon. Good discounts and offers are expected on phones during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale. The price has not been officially revealed yet, but considering the previous models of V-series, it is going to remain in the mid-range segment.

Is this phone right for you?

If you want an upgrade in camera, battery and software, then Vivo V80 5G seems like a good option. Especially cameras with 4K cinematic mode and ZEISS partnership can attract users who are interested in photography and videography. With 7200mAh battery and 90W charging, battery tension will also be reduced significantly. The phone also seems ready for the future with Android 17 and OriginOS 7.
