Amit Sadh has developed a loyal following thanks to his dashing looks, impressive acting talent and outspoken, no-nonsense personality off-screen. In recent years, he has won appreciation for his performances in acclaimed projects like Breathe, Avrodh: The Siege Within and Jeet Ki Zid. The actor is now gearing up for the theatrical release of his upcoming film, Pratap. Interestingly, this marks his first film in a significant role in eight years to receive a proper theatrical release, the last being Gold (2018).
EXCLUSIVE: Amit Sadh EXCITED as Pratap is his first major theatrical release in 8 years; reveals he was DISAPPOINTED with Pune Highway’s release: “It was a token release to put it on OTT”
Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to Amit Sadh during the promotions of Pratap and asked him how he usually spends the day when his film releases in cinemas. Amit candidly admitted, “It’s been many years since my film has released theatrically. So, I don’t know what I used to do on the day of release.”
When reminded that he did have a theatrical release last year with Pune Highway (2025), Amit Sadh clarified, “I don’t call Pune Highway a proper theatrical release. It was a token release to put it on OTT. When you want to premiere your film on streaming, you have to do some things.”
He added, “I was very disappointed by the manner in which Pune Highway was released. It becomes a forced release when the OTT platform dictates that you need to do something (and only then will they buy the film). We all know this by now.”
Amit Sadh further stated, “My last release was Gold (2018). After that, Pratap will be my next big theatrical release. Of course, I am not complaining. I had great work on digital like Breathe, Zid, Avrodh, etc.”
Speaking about his expectations from Pratap, the actor said, “Pratap is getting a good theatrical release. I am thankful to my producer. We have a great team and all of them are doing a good job. I really hope we can get people to cinemas on November 20.”
Incidentally, after Gold, Amit Sadh was also seen in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30 (2019), which enjoyed a theatrical release. However, his role in the film was relatively brief and could be described as a special appearance.
