Maruti Suzuki is soon going to launch an updated version of its popular compact crossover SUV Frontx. After the new Brezza facelift, the company has now introduced the Baleno facelift. After this, preparations are on to introduce the new fronts. Fronx is currently undergoing testing and has been spotted several times.

The official launch date has not been announced yet, but the new 2026 Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift may arrive by the end of the year. The spy shots clearly show the possibility of mild design changes, ADAS safety system and a stronger hybrid powertrain later. This update will make the car more modern, safe and economical than before. Let’s take a look at its potential design to engine-performance details.

Design and interior

Slight changes will be made in the design in the new front facelift. According to the spy images, the front grille will be redesigned, the bumper will be tweaked and a new silver skid plate will be installed. The headlamp and fog lamp assembly is likely to remain the same. Overall the look will be made fresh and updated without changing the entire look.

Some upgrades can also be found in the cabin. Features like new seat upholstery, sunroof and front ventilated seats are expected to be added. Existing features like Suzuki Connected Car technology, 360-degree camera, head-up display (HUD), cruise control, rear AC vents, wireless charger and driver seat height adjustment will continue. These changes will give the cabin a more comfortable and premium feel.

Features and safety

Many useful features will be carryover in the facelift. These include connected car technology, 360-degree camera, HUD, cruise control, rear AC vents, wireless charger and height adjustable driver seat. New options like sunroof and ventilated seats can also be added, which will make the car more attractive.

The most important upgrade is going to be in safety. ADAS calibration equipment and LIDAR unit have been spotted in the rear bumper in the test mule. It is clear from this that level-2 ADAS will be available in the new fronts. This may include features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, high beam assist. These features will make driving very safe.

Engine, Performance and Mileage

Initially the new fronts will come with the existing engine options. Both 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo petrol engines will be available. Manual and automatic gearboxes will also continue. Performance will remain the same as the current model.

In 2027, Maruti will launch its in-house strong hybrid powertrain, which may debut in the French. This series will be a hybrid system, which is said to be more fuel efficient and economical than Toyota’s Atkinson Strong Hybrid.

According to media reports, this hybrid version can give mileage up to 35 km per liter. This will make the Front a strong contender in terms of mileage in the segment. Its ex-showroom price is likely to start from ₹7 lakh and go up to ₹12 lakh for the top variant.
