Price crosses Rs 2 lakh, still out of stock
If you are thinking that this phone will be cheap, then you are wrong. The starting price of this new device of the company has been kept at $ 2,000 (about Rs 1.65 lakh). At the same time, the price of the top model with more storage reaches $3,199 (about Rs 2.65 lakh). Despite the price being so high compared to other smartphones, there is no dearth of demand among Apple fans and early buyers. The stock was on the verge of being exhausted in pre-order itself. Now customers placing new orders on Apple’s website are being given time till the end of January for delivery.
Why is there a problem in production?
After all, why are phones not being made as per demand? Actually, preparing the iPhone Duo is not child’s play. Due to the special ‘hinge’ that folds the phone from the middle and the new display technology, there are huge challenges in its production. At present, this phone is being manufactured only in some selected and limited factories in China. Apart from this, the ongoing shortage of memory chips and other essential electronic components in the global market has also added to the problem, due to which the cost is also increasing. Rival companies like Samsung are also increasing the prices of their smartphones for this reason.
