Renault has again started exports to Sri Lanka.

Renault India has again started exporting its vehicles to the neighboring country Sri Lanka. After this step of this fully owned Indian unit of France’s leading automobile manufacturer Renault Group, the international export scope of the company has now increased to 16 countries. The company has sent the first consignment of 100 cars made in India to Colombo from Chennai port, which includes All New Triber, popular hatchback Kwid and sub-compact SUV Kiger.

With the departure of this consignment, Renault has officially returned to the automobile market of the island nation. To strengthen its hold in Sri Lanka, the company has joined hands with AMW Motors, the leading automotive distributor there. This step will not only give a new impetus to the automobile trade between the two neighboring countries, but will also play an important role in establishing India as a major export hub.

Renault will regain its footing

In order to make its second innings successful and strong in the Sri Lankan auto market, Renault has entered into an official partnership with the country’s well-known distributor AMW Motors. This strategic alliance will strengthen the company’s new commercial structure in Sri Lanka and ease the reach of the Renault brand among customers locally. Auto industry experts believe that AMW Motors’ wide and strong local network will act as a base for Renault’s next round of business expansion and brand restructuring.

What did the company say?

Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President (Sales and Marketing), Renault India, said that this resumption of exports to Sri Lanka is a very important phase of the company’s international expansion plan. He said that the cars being designed and manufactured in India have great potential for expansion in the international market. Along with this, this step will establish India as a strong export base for Renault globally. The company’s main focus is on creating a strong long-term market through collaboration with local partners and tailor-made products as per customer demand.

Vehicles rolled out from Chennai’s Oragadam plant

All these vehicles being sent to Sri Lankan customers have been manufactured at Renault India’s manufacturing plant located at Oragadam, near Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Along with meeting India’s domestic demand, this plant is also playing an important role in supplying vehicles to international markets around the world.

New Duster will also enter

Renault India is not going to be limited to only the existing three popular models, but in the coming months, the company is preparing to further expand the range of its models in the Sri Lankan market. The company’s upcoming product portfolio will also include the New Duster, which will soon be introduced to Sri Lankan customers. With the addition of new and advanced models, the company will be able to establish its strong presence in many other vehicle segments of the market and firmly establish its brand value there.

The company has sent 2 lakh vehicles from India

India has been a reliable supply hub for Renault for the last several years in the international markets. The company has so far completed successful export of approximately 2,00,000 vehicles from Indian factories to various countries of the world. These foreign markets include big automobile markets like South Africa and Saudi Arabia, where Renault vehicles made in India have received excellent response from customers and now Sri Lanka’s name has also been strongly added to this list.
