2026 Toyota Glanza vs Hyundai i20: The competition between Toyota Glanza facelift and Hyundai i20 in the premium hatchback segment has now become more interesting. The ex-showroom price of the recently launched 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift starts from Rs 6.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.98 lakh in the top variant. Whereas the price of Hyundai i20 starts from around Rs 6 lakh and goes up to around Rs 10.68 lakh.
Both cars are attractive options for young customers and families. The Glanza facelift comes with features like a new three-cylinder engine, ventilated seats and level-2 ADAS, while the i20 is known for its stylish design, sunroof and premium features. Design and dimensions
The front appearance has been changed in Glanza facelift. It looks more attractive with the large honeycomb grille, gloss black surround, silver accents and new bumper. Shark-fin antenna and new color options (bluish black, digital teal green) have been added. The side and rear profile are almost the same as before. The i20 looks more modern and wider. It has a length of 3995 mm, width of 1775 mm and a wheelbase of 2580 mm, which is slightly larger than the Glanza (3990 mm length, 1745 mm width, 2520 mm wheelbase). The front and lighting setup of i20 gives a more premium feel.
Cabin and Comfort
The Glanza has a dual-tone black-beige cabin. Higher variants get ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, 9-inch touchscreen, head-up display and wireless charger with cooling. Rear AC vents and ample legroom are available. The interior of i20 looks more premium. Features like 10.25-inch touchscreen, Bose sound system (higher variant), electric sunroof and ambient lighting put it ahead. Boot space is around 318 liters in Glanza and 311 liters in i20.
Features and safety
Glanza has features like wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, Toyota i-Connect, auto climate control, cruise control and Clarion sound system. The i20 has an emphasis on sunroof, wireless charging, large touchscreen and connected car technology. The Glanza has more practical features like ventilated seats and HUD, while the i20 is ahead in style and entertainment features.
6 airbags are standard in both. Glanza is available with ABS, ESP, TPMS, 360-degree camera (higher) and level-2 ADAS (Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking etc.) in the top V(O) variant. The i20 also has ESC, hill start assist and TPMS as standard, but lacks ADAS. Glanza looks a little ahead in safety technology.
Engine and Mileage
Glanza has a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which gives 83 PS power and 112 Nm torque. There are 5-speed MT or AMT options. CNG option is also available (70 PS). Mileage claimed is 23.80 km/l in petrol MT and 24.77 km/l in AMT. 33.61-34.47 km/kg in CNG.
The i20’s 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine produces around 83-88 PS and 115 Nm. It can be purchased with MT or CVT. Mileage is 16 km/l in MT and 20 km/l in CVT. Glanza is better in mileage and CNG option.
