Tata Motors has now implemented its Battery-as-a-Service i.e. BaaS program on its entire electric car lineup. Earlier this facility was available only on Tiago EV and Punch EV, but now Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV have also been included in it. In this scheme, there are separate loan accounts for car and battery, which reduces the initial purchase cost significantly. The price of Tiago EV now starts at just Rs 4.69 lakh.
Punch is available from Rs 6.59 lakh, Nexon Rs 8.99 lakh, Curve Rs 10.99 lakh, Sierra Rs 11.99 lakh and Harrier Rs 14.49 lakh. Battery cost is charged separately per kilometer. This scheme makes electric vehicles more affordable for the common people and promotes the adoption of EVs. Customers can also have the option to purchase the complete vehicle. Tata Tiago EV
The base version of Tiago EV with 19 KWH battery starts at Rs 4.69 lakh under BaaS. Its regular price is Rs 6.99 lakh, which means there will be an initial saving of around Rs 2.30 lakh. The battery fare is Rs 2.6 per kilometer, which is decided on the basis of driving 44 kilometers daily. Its estimated range is around 220 to 250 kilometers. Being a small hatchback, it is proving to be the cheapest option for daily travel in the city. Charging costs are not included in this.
Tata Punch EV
The entry model of Punch EV with 30 KWH battery is now available for Rs 6.59 lakh. Earlier its price was Rs 9.79 lakh, due to which initial saving of Rs 3.20 lakh is being achieved. Battery usage cost is Rs 2.6 per kilometer and this is based on daily running of 60 kilometers. The range is around 300 to 350 kilometers. With compact SUV style and better ground clearance, it has become an attractive option for the family. Safety features are also strong.
Tata Nexon EV
The 45 KWH battery version of Nexon EV starts at Rs 8.99 lakh in BaaS. The regular price was Rs 14.34 lakh, which means there will be an initial saving of Rs 5.35 lakh. Battery fare is Rs 4.4 per kilometer. Its claimed range goes from about 450 to 489 kilometers. This model, which is among India’s best selling electric SUVs, has now become accessible to more people. Fast charging support is also good.
Tata Curvev
The base model of Curve EV with 55 KWH battery is now available for Rs 10.99 lakh. Earlier the price was Rs 17.19 lakh, which leaves Rs 6.20 lakh initially. The cost of battery has been fixed at Rs 5 per kilometer. The range claimed is approximately 500 to 502 kilometers. This coupe SUV is suitable for those who want a stylish look with design and modern features. Features like Level 2 ADAS are also available in it.
Tata Sierra EV
The price of the entry version of Sierra EV with 63 kWh battery starts at Rs 11.99 lakh. Its price was Rs 18.79 lakh, which means there will be an initial saving of Rs 6.80 lakh. Battery rental is Rs 5.5 per kilometer. Its range is about 530 to 535 kilometers. This newly launched SUV offers better space and features. It also shows better performance in fast charging.
Tata Harrier EV
The base model of Harrier EV with 65 KWH battery is now available for Rs 14.49 lakh. Earlier the price was Rs 21.79 lakh, due to which the maximum initial saving of Rs 7.30 lakh is being achieved. Battery fare is Rs 5.9 per kilometer. The range is approximately 530 to 538 kilometers. Being a flagship electric SUV, it leads in space, power and luxury features. This will prove to be a strong option for a large family.
