Mercedes-Benz India has further strengthened its ultra-luxury segment. The company has formally launched the Mercedes-Maybach S 580e PHEV in India. This model is the first electrified variant in the Maybach range, which combines traditional luxury with modern electric technology. Its price has been fixed at Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom) and only 30 units will be available in the initial batch. This limited availability makes it even more exclusive.

Powertrain and performance

The S 580E is powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine paired with an electric motor. Together they produce 585 horsepower and 750 Newton-meter torque. The power reaches the wheels through a 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 4.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph. The maximum speed can go up to 140 kmph in electric mode only.

Battery, range and charging

The 22 kWh usable battery pack gives an electric range of about 98 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. In the real world it can reach about 100 kilometers. The car supports both 11 kW AC and 60 kW DC fast charging. The company is providing a free home charging solution with every unit, so that owners can easily charge at home.

Interior and Features

In India, this model is available exclusively in four-seater configuration. Features like executive seats, full-length business console, wireless charging and temperature-controlled cup holders have been provided at the rear. Maybach’s signature luxury, premium materials and advanced infotainment system further enhance the cabin.

When will delivery start?

Deliveries are likely to begin from November 2026. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said that in view of the growing demand for PHEVs among top-end customers, the Maybach S 580e combines traditional exclusivity with the convenience of plug-in hybrid technology.
