Two-time champion Mumbai Indians made its first-ever trade in Women’s Premier League, bringing in USA pacer Tara Norris ahead of the 2027 WPL season.
The left-arm fast bowler, who has taken 21 wickets in 17 T20Is, was initially amongst the players retained by UP Warriorz. However with this trade, the Mumbai franchise has now filled all of its overseas slots ahead of the mini auction on October 28.
Norris made history at the inaugural WPL Auction after becoming the first player from the Associate nations to be picked by a franchise.
She represented the Delhi Capitals in the opening season and became the first bowler to register a five-wicket haul in WPL history.
Norris will join MI at her existing fee of Rs. 10 Lakhs.
According to the regulations, a team can field a maximum of five overseas players, provided that one of them is an Associate player. This means Mumbai Indians can avail this option with Norris’ arrival.
